Superman disses Batman over the new 'Dawn of Justice' trailer

http://goo.gl/r6filN

We sure have gotten our fair share of amazing movie trailers over the past few weeks. From "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" to "Jurassic World" to "Tomorrowland" to "The Fantastic Four," there has yet to be one that disappoints. The trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" debuted April 17, and in this hilarious animated short from Daniel Baxter of How it Should Have Ended, Batman and Superman trade jabs as they discuss the new trailer. In the clip, Superman talks about how amazing the trailer is and admitted he watched it about 1,000 times. Batman quickly learns Superman was actually talking about the "Star Wars" trailer and, when Batman asks Superman to talk about their own trailer, Superman responds by telling Batman he was trying a little too hard to be like Ultron from "Avengers: Age of Ultron." What a fun way to parody the next great superhero film! #MWTG325

Netflix officially orders 'Full House' revival for 2016

Fullhouse1

http://goo.gl/oROHJq

If you were born in the 90's like me, you'd definitely have fond memories of sitting home from school on a sick day and watching The Price is Right, Boy Meets World, and of course, Full House. Last year, Disney announced a spin-off series of the popular Boy Meets World, called Girl Meets World, and now it seems like we are getting the same concept for Full House! Netflix has officially ordered 13 episodes of Fuller House, a multi-camera comedy set to star Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, who played D.J. Tanner, Stephanie Tanner, and Kimmy Gibbler, respectively, in the original series. The show will center on D.J. Tanner-Fuller and her two boys. She is also pregnant, recently widowed, and living in San Francisco. Meanwhile, younger sister Stephanie (Sweetin) is an aspiring musician and best friend Kimmy (Barber) is living life as a single mom to a "feisty" teenage daughter named Ramona. The pair move in to help D.J. raise her family as she prepares for her new addition. According to Netflix, "discussions with Full House stars Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin regarding guest appearances in Fuller House are ongoing." John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) is set to produce and the show will premiere in 2016. #MWTG325

What actually happens when you crack your knuckles

Knuckles1

http://goo.gl/8tQa7c

We've all done it. We have all cracked our knuckles before, but have you ever wondered what is really happening when we hear that sound? Now we know the answer. By using MRI to video-record knuckle cracking in action, researchers have discovered that the unsettling "pop" made by cracking one's knuckles results from the rapid creation of a cavity in the fluid inside the joints.  Study researcher Greg Kawchuk, a professor of rehabilitation medicine at the University of Alberta in Canada, says, "It's a little bit like forming a vacuum. As the joint surfaces suddenly separate, there is no more fluid available to fill the increasing joint volume, so a cavity is created, and that event is what's associated with the sound." Using MRI, the researchers recorded what happened inside Fryer's joint in real time as each of his fingers was pulled slowly until the joints cracked. The creation of a cavity in the synovial fluid (the fluid between the joints) made the sound. "The ability to crack your knuckles could be related to joint health," said Kawchuk. "It may be that we can use this new discovery to see when joint problems begin long before symptoms start, which would give patients and clinicians the possibility of addressing joint problems before they begin."

All the deep connections to Walt Disney's vision in 'Tomorrowland'

http://goo.gl/yaYHP1

"Many of the things that seem impossible now... will become realities tomorrow." -- Walt Disney

All of us are familiar with the visionary genius of Walt Disney, the man behind Mickey Mouse, DisneyLand, and Walt Disney Studios. Mr. Disney had an extraordinary imagination as to what the future would hold for the human race including rapid mass transit, robotics, and space travel. It's hard to believe he died in 1966, three years before humans would land on the moon and decades before many of his dreams would become realities. Now, the latest extension of Walt Disney's vision comes to us via a new film entitled Tomorrowland. The film, directed by Brad Bird, is action-adventure movie that plays with the idea that Walt's theme-park attraction was a front for something much, much more advanced. "In our modern world," Disney says, "everywhere we look, we see the influence science has on our daily lives." That goes for on-screen, too. In this featurette, we see Bird, co-writer Damon Lindelof, George Clooney, and Walt Disney make the deep connection between the man, the park, the movie and the vision. Tomorrowland hits theaters nationwide on May 22. #MWTG325

Use Facebook’s new Messenger site on your Mac’s desktop with this app

Screen Shot 2015 04 09 at 1 21 56 pm Use Facebooks new Messenger site on your Macs desktop with this app

http://goo.gl/wt8kCS

I've always wondered when Facebook was going to establish a laptop-friendly app for its messenger. Now here it is! Facebook has unveiled a new site for its Messenger app that brings the experience you know from mobile to the Web, but Facebook didn’t release an official desktop app. However, a group of developers has made a small app available that makes the Messenger site act like a desktop app on OS X. It has the look and feel of a native application and includes the expected featuress like desktop notifications so you get the full experience. The app is open source and the group isn’t affiliated with Facebook in any way, so be prepared for the occasional weird glitch. Perhaps Facebook will release its own desktop app soon, but this is a step in the right direction! #MWTG325

Brontosaurus finally gets its name back

Brontosaurus

http://goo.gl/KGEy8o

A victory for the Brontosaurus! One of the most iconic now has its name back in the history books, having regained its status as a unique genus and species. The reclassification appears to resolve a long-standing debate over what to do with Brontosaurus ("thunder lizard" in Greek), which looked a lot like the dinosaur Apatosaurus. This similarity caused paleontologists to rename Brontosaurus as Apatosaurus excelsus because is was considered to have been another type of Apatosaurus. Roger Benson, from the University of Oxford, and his colleagues used statistical approaches to calculate the differences between other species and genera of diplodocid dinosaurs. "The differences we found between Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus were at least as numerous as the ones between other closely related genera, and much more than what you normally find between species," Benson explained. Co-author Octávio Mateus stated, "It's the classic example of how science works. Especially when hypotheses are based on fragmentary fossils, it is possible for new finds to overthrow years of research." It is also now believed that the dinosaur probably had a head similar to that of Diplodocus thanks to this study. Way to be, Brontosaurus! You do you! #MWTG325

Photographer steps inside abandoned Cleveland theater

XINXHVGwf7EqZMvUDr6AnuCK-7-itSQWZu06wdQ1NWs

http://goo.gl/EUQRVQ

There is something eerily beautiful about exploring and photographing abandoned building, and photographer Seph Lawless is set on sharing that beauty with the world. Lawless has been traveling around the U.S. photographing abandoned race tracks and other sites of urban decay for the past few years, and for his most recent project, he has  traveled to northeast Ohio to visit the deserted Variety Theater. The theater, which closed in 1986, was one of the first single screen movie theaters in the country, and later became an iconic venue for some of rock and roll's biggest names. The theater closed in 1986, and everything has been left untouched since then. "The most interesting thing I saw was just how original everything was ... everything was [virtually] the same as when it was built. The ornate ceilings and the architecture is just so beautiful even after all these years. There was art everywhere you looked. It was hauntingly beautiful to witness," Lawless writes. These pictures are definitely worth checking out! #MWTG325

Michael Jackson Used to Piss off Russell Crowe with Constant Prank Calls

http://goo.gl/XvyKQP

It turns out that the King of Pop and Gladiator himself had a very interesting relationship for many years. Russell Crowe, the Australian actor best known for his work in Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, and Les Miserables, reveals that Michael Jackson would constantly prank call him at home or in a hotel for over three years! The strangest part? The two had never even met! Crowe states in an interview with The Guardian that, " I never met him, never shook his hand, but he found out the name I stayed in hotels under, so it didn’t matter where I was, he’d ring up do this kind of thing, like you did when you were 10, you know. 'Is Mr. Wall there? Is Mrs. Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what’s holding the roo fup? Ha ha.' You’re supposed to grow out of doing that, right?" The fact that this type of thing went on for many years makes it one of the most impressive feats in prank call history. It makes me really happy to know that these two superstars had a great sense of humor! Celebrities are still human, after all. #MWTG325

Mind-blowing tattoo makes man look like machine

android-tattoo.jpg
http://goo.gl/nk5qGV

Don't let your eyes deceive you. No, you are not looking at a robotic arm but rather a normal human arm which happens to have an awesome tattoo. The tattoo was created by Tony Booth of Dabs Tattoo in Southport, England, who excels at working in black ink and creating geometric designs. Booth also creates a type of tattoo known as "dotwork," in which exceedingly complicated designs are made one dot at a time. Lisa, Tony's wife, commented, "The client and Tony came up with the concept between them and it grew from an upper arm sleeve to a full sleeve and then it carried on to his hand, shoulder and upper chest." The tattoo took multiple sessions to complete over the course of 18 months, and it won top prize in the category of "Best Blackwork Tattoo" at the "Tattoo Tea Party" convention in Manchester, England. The picture of the design emerged Thursday on the Instagram page of acclaimed street artist Banksy, and you can see more of Booth's work on the Dabs Tattoo site as well as on his Instagram page. Although we might not yet have androids roaming around covered in cool carbon-fiber-matrix skin, this is still pretty cool! #MWTG325

Musical Glove Helps Stroke Patients Use Their Hands Again

Music-Glove-Stills-inline

http://goo.gl/FCSnrJ

Every forty seconds, someone has a stroke. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, strokes are the leading cause of long-term disability in the US. Although many rehabilitation options exist for stroke patients, the problem with them is that not many of the victims keep up with their therapy once they leave the hospital. “They’re left at home, with just a list of exercises that the therapist gives them to do. It’s just not motivating, people don’t continue the therapy,” says Nizan Friedman, founder of Flint Rehabilitation Devices. Friedman is working to change that with MusicGlove, a wearable computing device designed to help patients improve their fine motor skills. The glove has tiny sensors that track the user’s hand movements, and it uses music as a way to keep people from getting bored with doing the same exercises again and again. Patients play a Guitar Hero-style game that involves pinching and gripping notes on the screen of a tablet while performing their exercises at the same time. Friedman wanted to combine robotics and music therapy, which is how he came up with the idea for the glove. #MWTG325

LED smart shoes turn your dance into a light show

orphe.jpg

http://goo.gl/BMmBLG

I'm going to need some of these the next time I hit the dance floor! Orphe is a programmable performance shoe fitted with 100 full-color, serially controlled LEDs, advanced motion sensors and a wireless Bluetooth module. The LEDs can be programed to map interactions between light, movement and sound and they can also be programmed to respond a certain way to the wearer's movements. Essentially, they were designed to enhance your dance moves! The shoes come in plain black and plain white to let the LEDs shine to their best effect, and each shoe contains a small unified circuit board as well as the high-density LED strip around the sole. The developing team commented, "More than money ... what we need are people who will join us in creating with new forms of artistic expression using these tools. We hope that with the participation of a diverse range of people involved in the creation of expressive art, including not only dancers and musicians but also developers and designers, our technology can lead to the emergence of a completely new culture of audiovisual expression." Pretty neat, huh?! #MWTG325

Mercedes-Benz self-driving concept car spotted on San Francisco roads

Mercedes

http://goo.gl/EJQVLP

Although the world of flying cars is still in the distant future, at least self-driven cars have finally emerged! Check out this new Mercedes-Benz that works on self-driving technology.  "Luxury in Motion," as they call it, provides a sort of private cocoon space for people to enjoy while traveling, rather than manually operating a vehicle. The car has LED lights installed on the front and back, which operate as the vehicle's headlights and are used as a way to communicate with other drivers. Blue means it is in autonomous driving mode, while white means someone is controlling the vehicle. Its strange proportions are deliberately designed to look like something ripped from the future. As of now, this is just a concept and will not be available to the public for at least 15 years. But hey, I think it looks pretty neat! Would any of you trust a self-driving car? #MWTG325

‘Whiplash’: Watch The Short Film That Lead To The Oscar Winning Movie

View image on Twitter

http://goo.gl/SG20s2

Whiplash -- my favorite movie of 2014, and possibly one of my favorite films of all time. The film tells the story of a young drummer (Miles Teller) who is mentored by a teacher (J.K. Simmons) who uses extreme teaching methods in order to motivate his students at music conservatory. The film has won three Oscars and was nominated for two more, however, some people might not know that this game-changing movie was shot first as short film. Director Damien Chazale did not have enough funding to produce a full-length feature film, so he created the short film in hopes of drawing attention to the project so he could eventually create the full motion picture. The short film is essentially a recreation of one sequence in the full length. J.K. Simmons still plays Dr. Fletcher, the role that eventually lead him to an Oscar win, however, the role of Andrew Neiman is played by Johnny Simmons in the short film instead of Miles Teller. The short garnered rave reviews, and due to the short’s reception, Chazale was able to get funding for his debut full length version of Whiplash. Definitely check out both versions of this incredible story; you won't be disappointed! #MWTG325

New animated 'DuckTales' waddling to TV screens in 2017

http://goo.gl/MV1nFj

When I was younger, Duck Tales was one of my favorite cartoons to watch on Saturday mornings. From the catchy theme song to the exiting adventures, Duck Tales kept me entertained with many years of laughter and fun. Now, Scrooge McDuck and his nephews are getting a reboot in 2017! The new series will premiere on DisneyXD in 2017, and will feature all of our favorite characters with brand new storylines that are sure to entertain audiences young and old alike. If you've never heard  never heard of Duck Tales, the series is based on the "Uncle Scrooge" comic books by the legendary Carl Barks, and centers around the adventures of thrifty billionaire Scrooge McDuck and his great-nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. The adventures generally involve either thwarting villains after Scrooge's gold, or racing off to find some treasure before the bad guys do, and they're always good for a laugh. Can't wait to check out this new incarnation of a great TV show! #MWTG325

15 Epic Photos of Buildings You’ll Never Be Allowed to Enter

http://goo.gl/hbOsBy

How cool! British photographer Matt Emmett recently spent three years traveling Europe and exploring abandoned buildings, including forgotten factories, dilapidated libraries, and grimy industrial plants. Emmett describes the photos as “a form of preservation, of preserving history." He goes on, "To me they’re more impressive than your average world heritage site, like the pyramids or Angkor Wat,” Emmett says. “People would never consider them tourist attractions because they’re derelict abandoned places, but the atmosphere you get in there is utterly different. These power stations, these vast industrial spaces, they are utterly silent. To me, they beat going to Machu Picchu.” I would love to visit these abandoned places in person. I think there is a certain beauty to these sites just waiting to be explored. Thank you, Mr. Emmett, for sharing these structures with us! #MWTG325

Modern Family episode takes place entirely on OS X desktop

 http://goo.gl/ejY1Io

This is one of my favorite shows currently on television. It never fails to deliver smart humor and situational comedy relevant to today's current society, and next Wednesday's episode looks to be no different. The entire episode will take place entirely on an Apple OS X desktop environment overlaid with footage shot exclusively on iPhone 6s, "new iPads," and Macbook Pros. The footage was shot on the actual devices, with camera crews holding phones on actors' behalf and then filming simultaneous scenes in various locations to mimic the feeling of talking through video chat. The plot   will center around Claire (played by Julie Bowen) trying to track down her daughter after a fight, and viewers will see the episode unfold from her laptop's primary screen while e-mails, Facetime calls, and texts pop up to tell jokes. The producers made it clear they drew inspiration from "Noah," a 17-minute short film from 2013 that also took place entirely on an OS X desktop. I don't know about you, but I will definitely be watching this episode! #MWTG325

Mars One selects 1 'alien' and 99 human finalists to die on Mars

marsone.jpg
http://goo.gl/jbx12h

Now this seems a little crazy... An organization called 'Mars One' has narrowed down one-hundred finalists for a chance to visit Mars and never return. For some it is a dream to explore and die on another world, but for some, it's a nightmare. Can you believe that they started with over 200,00 applicants? My favorite is the guy claiming to be an "alien" from Mars who was sent by the Martians to explore Earth. This guy just wants to return to his home planet! As for the rest, I'm not quite sure what the appeal is... I know one thing for certain, though; You'd never catch me on a spaceship to Mars unless I get to ride Space Mountain right afterwards! #MWTG325

MacBook Air fell from plane

MacBook falls 1,000 feet from airplane, survives the landing

http://goo.gl/rG25ho

I've always believed in Apple products. I've been a Mac user since high school, and I've never looked back. Now this story has me completely convinced! A pilot named Carl took off in his aircraft and noticed that his canopy cover had popped slightly open. "No problem," he thought. And he continued climbing altitude in the process of his take-off. However, as he leveled off, the G-forces pushed the canopy open further and the wind blew the contents of the cockpit everywhere! Among those contents: an orange bag containing a MacBook Air. No way that could've survived, right?! Wrong. The MacBook was still turned on and fully functioning, minus some cosmetic wear. Carl immediately hooked up an external mouse and keyboard, aimed a desk fan at the laptop to make up for its failing cooling system and shared his story on Reddit. Who knew MacBooks liked to sky dive! #MWTG325

Were dinosaurs tripping on the grass they ate?

Were dinosaurs tripping on the grass they ate?

http://www.cnet.com/news/were-dinosaurs-tripping-on-the-grass-they-ate/

Dinosaurs? Or drug addicts? New research suggests that palaeoclaviceps parasiticus, possibly the world's oldest grass, could have contained an LSD-like hallucinogen. This grass was common during the early-to-mid Cretaceous period on Earth, a thriving time period when there would have been plenty of dinosaurs chewing on the delicious grass and ingesting the trippy substance. According to George Poniar Jr. of the OSU College of Science, "...the fungus has been known to cause delirium, irrational behavior, convulsions, severe pain, gangrenous limbs and death. "There's no doubt in my mind that it would have been eaten by sauropod dinosaurs, although we can't know what exact effect it had on them." Thanks to a perfectly preserved amber fossil found in Myanmar, we now have a greater insight into what the dinosaurs ate, and the side effects that came along with it.
